Crystal Palace Punish Weakened Spurs Side

Crystal Palace took control early. Though two goals were disallowed, they kept pressing. Their attacks were sharp, and their intent was clear. Just before halftime, Eberechi Eze broke the deadlock. He finished from close range after a low cross from Daniel Muñoz. Then, only three minutes into the second half, Eze struck again. This time, it came from a fast counterattack. Ismaïla Sarr made the run, and Eze finished it calmly. His confidence was sky-high—and so was Palace’s.

Tottenham’s Tough Day

Tottenham looked off from the start. Manager Ange Postecoglou made eight changes to the lineup. He clearly had one eye on the Europa League final. But the rotated squad struggled to find rhythm. Dejan Kulusevski picked up an early injury, adding to their woes. Spurs managed only three shots in the first half and failed to create real danger. Their passing was disjointed, and their energy was low. The crowd grew restless, and Palace took full advantage.

Record Breakers on Both Ends

Palace made history at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. For the first time, they completed a Premier League double over Spurs. The win also pushed them to 49 points, matching their best-ever Premier League tally. And with two games left, they could still break that record. Tottenham, however, hit a low point. This was their 20th league defeat of the season. It’s their worst record in a 38-game campaign since 1912–13. The contrast couldn’t be clearer.

Looking Ahead

Crystal Palace is flying high. Their form is peaking at just the right time. Next, they face Manchester City in the FA Cup final. With Eze in top form, they’ll feel they have a real shot. Spurs, on the other hand, have work to do. Their Europa League final against Manchester United is their last chance to salvage the season. Win, and they end on a high. Lose, and the pressure on Postecoglou will grow even louder.
